Overview

This Addon is designed to optimize the pickup and dropoff process for service providers through a unified agent app. By integrating various functionalities, the app enhances the management of appointments, ensuring that both service providers and drivers can efficiently coordinate their schedules and routes.

Following flow explains the processes of task creation, assignment, route optimization, and updating tasks when multiple appointments are requested.


Workflow:

  • Pickup Task Creation: Upon acknowledging an appointment task,the service provider (agent)  will be able to view the  popup to request a pickup from their desired location before the appointment.
  • Task Assignment: The eligible driver (agent) receives the request of pickup and dropoff tasks made by the service providers.
  • Return Task Creation: Once the service task is completed, the service provider (agent) can create a return task for their preferred location. This return task will be assigned to  the eligible drivers.



Steps

  1. Enable the Home services Add On.


  2. Create an Access control role for service provider agents having the create task option enabled.
  1. Give the pick & drop agents the tag of “driver”.
  1. Go to the Tookan dashboard and change the layout to Appointment from preferences.
  1. Create an appointment task and assign any agent to it.
  2. When the agent accepts the task, it will ask the agent to create a pickup task for themselves. Input the Pickup address and time and click on next. The pickup task will be created having a “driver” tag attached to it.
  1. The tasks will get auto/manually assigned to the drivers having “driver” tags which allows them to pick up the Service providers at the desired location and drop them to their Appointment location.


  2. After executing the Appointment service, the popup will come after changing the task status to successful which allows the service provider to create a return task for them by inputting the drop-off location. They can deny the return task by clicking on No Return Task.


  3. The return task request will also get sent to the agents having “driver” tags.
  4. If the route optimization extension is activated, then the pickup and delivery tasks will get optimized after the agent has more than 3 pickup and delivery jobs. The route will automatically be optimized after the task acceptance.
