Picker App Overview
The Picker App is a tool designed to improve the efficiency and accuracy of warehouse and dark store operations, making the order picking and packing process simpler to ensure that orders are handled quickly and with fewer errors.
Picker App Flow:
When a merchant creates a task, it automatically appears in the picker view of the app. The manager using the app, referred to as the picker, is responsible for handling these tasks. The picker can either:
- Pick the task if the items are available in inventory.
- Fail the task if the necessary items are not available in stock.
If a task is assigned to an agent before it is picked by the picker:
- The agent will not be able to start the task, and a validation message will appear stating: “Item is not picked yet.”
- The agent will also not be able to mark the task as successful. In this case, the validation message will show: “Please wait, Job is not picked yet.”
This ensures that tasks are only handled by agents once the picker confirms item availability, maintaining order accuracy throughout the process.
Steps:
- Enable “Picker” Add-On.
- Go to “Access Control” in Settings, Under the “Manager ACL” click on “Add Role”.
- Go to “Picker Permissions”, enable “Picker”.
- Enabling the “Picker Permissions” will automatically enable all “Merchant Permissions”.
- Go to “Manager” in Settings, now add or edit a manager with the role you have just created for Picker.
- You can also assign Merchants to Managers, by default managers will have all merchants access.
- Now go to “Merchants” in the sidebar, now add or edit a merchant
- Click on “Enable Picker”, this makes the merchant a picker merchant (Every task the merchant makes or receives will be considered as a picker task).
- Now Picker can log in to their manager application, with a new picker screen.
What It Does:
-Displays Order Details: Offers complete information for each order, including customer details and special instructions.
– Provides Itemized Lists: Shows a detailed list of items for each order to reduce packing errors.
– Manages Tasks: Assigns and tracks picking tasks to manage workloads and improve accountability.
– Sends Notifications: Alerts the riders for orders that are Ready to be Picked.
– Offers a User-Friendly Interface: Intuitive design accessible to users with varying technical expertise.
The Picker App is designed to make the order fulfillment process more accurate, efficient, and user-friendly for all stakeholders involved.
