What is a device token?
A device token is not a device IMEI but an ID to identify a certain mobile application on a certain device. A device token also called a push token is a unique key that is issued by the Apple or Google push notification gateways. It allows gateways and push notification providers to route messages and ensure the notification is delivered only to the unique app-device combination for which it is intended.
Why do we need a device token?
A device token is required If you want to send push notifications to whoever installed your app. Device Token is saved in the back end at the first time installation of your application.
Can a device token expire?

- An app is updated
- Users transfer their data to a new device, or
